David Hastings, principal of Managing Excellence,  completed an MBA in Health Care Management from Boston University, following his graduation from Tufts University with a BS in Biology, cum laude.

Immediately upon graduation he began to follow his dream of taking a love of humanity together with the deliverables-focus of a cutting edge MBA to work for social change and the benefit of those needing a chance to succeed.  Working with mental health and community services, David started as an administrator for a psychiatric day hospital and maintained positions in top management and consulting services for a continuous thirty-four years.  Thirteen years ago he added a career as an adjunct professor - teaching management to MS and PhD level students at Tufts University, occasional lectures at Harvard University and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.  In 2008 he expanded his teaching as part of a US-based faculty group to put together a hybrid online-in vivo certificate for students in North Africa and the Middle East.

Throughout his professional career, he has maintained a consulting practice, specializing in providing focused services that help non profit organizations take concrete steps in achieving sustainable results.
